Everything you own. Written down before you need it.

If you had to list every item in your house from memory tonight, how far would you get? Darzen Home Inventory walks you through it room by room, records the make, model, serial number and where the receipt is kept, and prints one schedule you can hand to an insurer or an adjuster.

  • Room by room, with a total for every room and the whole house
  • A printable schedule with subtotals, and a separate list of your high-value items
  • Records where your receipts and photos are kept — the file holds no images
  • The App, Google Sheets and Excel in one purchase, no monthly fee

Why it works

Built for the day you have to prove it.

  • Three editions, one price

Use the App on your laptop and phone, keep the Google Sheet in your Drive, or open the Excel file. All three come with every purchase.

  • Room by room, so you finish it

Type your rooms first, then work through one at a time. Each item takes make, model, serial number, quantity, what you paid, where you bought it and what you think it is worth now. Every room shows its own total.

  • A schedule you can hand over

One printable report: grouped by room with a subtotal under each one, a whole-home total, and your high-value items listed separately above a figure you set. Print it or save it as a PDF.

  • Your serial numbers stay with you

The App keeps everything in your own browser, on your device — never on our servers. Serial numbers are also inside any backup file you download, so keep that file somewhere safe. There is no field here for an account number, a card number or a password.

  • An estimate beside the price, never instead of it

Set a useful life per category and a straight-line estimate appears next to what you paid. It is arithmetic on your own figures, clearly labelled — your insurer decides what anything is worth.

  • Warranties and a yearly walk-through

Type the warranty end dates and get one calendar file with reminders, plus a nudge to walk the house again and update what changed.

Everything in Home Inventory

One record. Every room in the house.

  1. The App
    1

Overview: what the house adds up to

The current estimated value and total purchase price side by side, your total against the contents limit you typed, which categories sit over the sub-limits you typed, and how much of your proof is on file.

    Rooms: walk the house once

A card for every room with its own total, what you paid, how much of the house it holds and how many items still need proof. A grid underneath shows where the value sits by room and category.

    Report: the printable schedule

Grouped by room with a subtotal under each, a whole-home total at the end, and the items you value above a figure you set listed separately. Your category totals are compared with the sub-limits you typed.

Moving: the same file packs the truck

Turn on moving mode, number your boxes, pick the box on each item, and drag a box from still to pack to packed. The contents list builds itself, so the record that follows you to the new house is the same one your insurer gets.

    • Box numbers
    • Contents per box
    • Packed and unpacked
    • Drag, with undo
  6. Google Sheets and Excel

    Google Sheets and Excel

The same record as a workbook: Start Here, Dashboard, Rooms, Items, Report, Moving and Settings. Yellow cells are where you type; the totals, the estimate and the whole schedule work themselves out.

A few good answers

Questions, answered.

Delivery, devices, updates and your data. Still curious? We reply to every email.

Ask us a question
How do I get my files?

Right after checkout we email you a Darzen username and password. Sign in to your Darzen account to download the App and the Excel files, and to make your own copy of the Google Sheets edition.

Which edition should I use?

All three come with every purchase, so you do not have to choose. The App feels like software and works offline, Google Sheets lives in your Google account, and Excel is a file you keep.

Will my insurer accept this?

That is their call, not ours. What you get is a clear record you produced: every item with its make, model, serial number, what you paid, what you believe it is worth now and where the proof is kept, printed as a schedule grouped by room. Your insurer decides what anything is worth and what your policy covers. Nothing here is a valuation, an appraisal or insurance advice, and we do not name or work with any insurer.

Does it tell me what my things are worth?

No. Every figure in it is one you type. The only number it works out on its own is a straight-line estimate: your purchase price spread evenly over a useful life you set for the category. It sits beside what you paid, never instead of it, and it is labelled as an estimate. It is not a replacement cost.

Which version of Excel do I need?

Excel 2010 or later on Windows and Mac, or Excel for the web. The workbook has no macros.

Does the App need the internet?

Only once, to sign in with the login we email you. After that it opens from the file on your device and works offline.

Where is my data kept?

In the browser on your own device, never on our servers. That includes your serial numbers. Save a backup file in one click and restore it on any device or browser — your serial numbers are inside that file too, so keep it somewhere safe, ideally somewhere that is not in the house.

Does it work on my phone?

The App works in your phone's browser and the Google Sheets edition works in the Sheets app. Sign in on up to two devices.

How do updates work?

Updates are free. When a new version is ready, it appears in your Darzen account and the App tells you.

Can I get a refund?

See our refund policy, linked next to the price. Try the live demo first so you know exactly what you are getting.
